Ya... this is what happens when you get hooked on image effects...
The blue tentacles came from a scanned image, and the rest is Macromedia Fireworks effects.

If I may be bold, and on a compositional note ... perhaps, a slight adjustment might work better?
Not entirely sure of this, however, forging ahead ... the rectangular section in the left ... seems a bit too predominant, given it's characteristics (colour, et al). Maybe a slight reduction in it's proportionality with respect to the overall image size is what I am thinking here.
Or, in short ... move it off to the left ... let the good ol' rule of thirds play out. Perhaps, for comparative purposes then.
That nonsense of mine aside ...
I took a look at your galleries to date ... and two thumbs up for your creativity and trying new stuff. "Shelf Unit" is one of yours that caught my eye in and around the time of your posting it.
Good good ... stuff.
And but of course, thank you for sharing your creative pursuits with us. :o)
"There is always something waiting at the end of the road ... if you're not willing to see what it is ... you probably shouldn't be out there in the first place."
The wonderful neon comes shining thru on this creation. Absolutely eye catching. I like your experiments, so to speak. Altho I'm not real sure of the green area to the left. The colour to me maybe should have been a bit more like the ones on the right side, and I agree with PUR...about the rule of thirds. But in either case, I enjoy the feel of the oval. People rarely used ovals and that's what makes your creation unique...Nicely done. Verena
thanks for the comments people. The dark on the left side is just so there's a spot to put icons, but I guess it would've been a good idea to make it a bright blue or something.
