You are right, this girl doesn't look very relaxed or happy. The expression on her face is hard to tell but your description is a pretty good interpretation. I love the subtle coloring in your picture, those green eyes look great against the black and white which are dominating the image. Good work from you, Jess, thumbs up !!!

Very well executed mood establishment in the image...Why does "Joan Crawford-ish" seem to come to mind?

Good work. I like that you kept the eyes subtle, it's so easy to go over the top with them, they have great impact muted like this.

Hmm, I like it. The only thing that's ruining it for me is the white dots/speckles on her hair. Other than that - great job.

Hello Jess.....This is a good portrait, you have exhibited good light and composition, but if it is to capture the imagination of anyone not related to the subject, it will exhibit passion and respect.....Well done...All the best....Mick.

what an astonishing image
somewhat laconic yet so full of meaning
the odd angle and posture of the girl is indicative of maybe her odd angle of her mood
good choice to go with bnw
very much reminiscent of the preraphaellite renditions of the drowning of Ophelia except of course without the garish colours they used to like
the soft focus and ps manips further enhance the strangeness of her appearance thus again her possible mood

wonderful pic and a beautiful girl!

My first thought when I saw this was "Black Dahlia", which is one of the most infamous LA murders due to the unique way Elizabeth Short was murdered. If you have the time, it might be worth checking out the resemblance :) That being said I feel a very dramatic reaction to this but I'm not quite sure if its good or bad. Either way this is quite a capture!
