Hello, Zubair...

To me this is the prototypical example of a broken system. The C-Index on this shot is 16, which means that almost half the voters gave this shot a 1 and the rest gave it a 2. This is an amazing shot; but in their rush to post their own photos, the voters simply could not have looked at the shot at full size or for any length of time.

There's an entire story in this photo. Your use of the telephoto lens allows us to get close to these guys as they prepare for a hard day's work. The water looks choppy and a little forbidding, as they appear to be pretty isolated on the seas. The humongous sun is just creeping up over the horizon showing us that the day is still ahead for the boat's occupants.

I like the wisp of sun that is getting through the morning's ocean mist. The entire shot makes us feel a little trepidation for the fishermen.

Some post photo work probably could have eliminated some of the noise. Some saturation could have brightened the colors. Graduated tint could have overlaid a counterfeit blue sky. But, you know, this shot is better without that post photo work. I like the purity of the shot just as it is. What the morons in the voting booth were looking at and voting on is a complete mystery to me. You have an excellent eye and a great gift. I no longer put my postings into the voting booth.

My only problem with the posting is that I would have liked a more detailed narrative telling us where and how this was shot.

Really excellent posting. Don't let the idiots in the VB influence your postings. They don't have a clue what they're doing.

The above comments (other than the idiot remark) should be applied to your future work.

Hi Zubair! In this photo I'm sure there was alot of mist in the air and possibly on the lens. The mist in the air gives its a realistic look, so it looks blurry because it is, because of the mist. Great job and keep on shooting! Allen

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

It's a lovely shot and something I've never personally seen.
Central positioning is almost always the least desirable for a balanced composition. A step or two to the left would have put the boat to the right edge of the rising sun, giving more room in the boats direction of travel. Generally 2/3rds in front and 1/3rd behind the subjects direction of travel or gaze.
The subjects, in this case two equally important, are lessened by a third, as the sky takes up far too much space, and lessens the impact of sun and boat.
It's far too good an image to not get the best out of it, and on open water it's quite easy. Clone the boat and place the bow about even with the outer diameter of the sun, and just slightly further away from the horizon line. Then just clone water over the original boat and crop off about 45% of the sky above the sun.
Now it's a story of man against a mammoth planet called the sun.
Congratulations Zubair. It's an excellent and absorbing image.
