I ain't a'scared of any spide.. ... (*jumps back, trips over a branch ...*)
Did you see it move right for me?!?!
:oP
Ok, silliness aside ... and jumping to the caveats/suggestions here (hope you don't mind) ...
Crop to a portrait presentation. In my humble opinion, the right-hand side ... for the most part, is a tad superfluous. (Bit undecided on this, tell the truth ... carrying on to what follows, if corrected ... might alleviate the imbalance that I perceive.)
The bright reflection captured in the background is distracting. Don't think it is beyond your post processing skills to clone that area out, though.
Challenging? Yes.
Doable ... I believe so. :o)
Really nice clarity and detail. And the colour contrasts present within frame are most certainly eye-catching. (Got me here to your image's page, so ... mission accomplished.)
Annnnnnd ... last and most certainly not least ... thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
p.s. Nice to see our cousins, as 'we' don't get around to the family functions as much as 'we' would like.
I agree with Purmusic about removing the vertical white band but not about the cropping. This is obviously a small spider and I think the distance you've provided us here, with the extra green foliage, adds to the fact that he's small. It works for me and is an excellent shot, by the way. Good job.
I think the composition is fine as it is so I agree with Nikoneer. The light areas, including the lower part of the picture could be burnt in a little. remove the white stem? At least tone it down or burn in. Good focus on the macro.

Busy and all of that, you know? :oP
