This shot was taken at Mount Vernon on July 18, 2008. I accompanied a group of Caedesians on a trip to Washington, D.C. This photo was taken on the front porch of the mansion.
I like the symmetry of the chairs and the graceful curves of the backs of them. The ladies are a bit mysterious with their big straw hats.
This does remind me of something I would see in the 18th century. Good eye for composition.
Welcome and we hope you enjoy your stay :)
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
A painting awaiting a canvass and artist.........may I suggest Robinson/American,20th century?HE was fond of this sort of scene.an excellent composition and though simple ,elegant and strong work
What a great eye! I love the angle you got this one from. And PJ is right, I'm so glad you got them in the period clothing. Hope to see more from our trip, too! Welcome to Caedes!

Good photo Aaron and I like the angle you chose. You seem to have caught them in a very poignant moment. Photo is not intrusive. Great first post. Nice to hear you were with the Caedes crew in DC. That must have been educational and entertaining.
