This is one from the composite I posted yesterday... he is in such an unusual position I thought he deserved his own picture... all 6 legs & his tongue are clearly visible as he stands on tiptoe slurping up that nectar.

It's a beautiful shot, Decia. I think it's overpowered by the frame, though.
Both are excellent, but the frame is too dominant, for this delicate subject, in my opinion.

Gorgeous shot of the butterfly but think the framing takes away from his beauty and the overall 'feel'. Nice capture though. Anita

I agree: the butterly shot is outstanding, for the reasons you said. The frame is also very original. But the two don't go together. Such a shot needs the attention kept on the wonderful detail of the insect, and not distracted by the frame.

I hope you will post the original, minus frame or with a discreet frame; if you do, I will instantly download it!

This is an excellent macro you have captured of this beautiful looking butterfly. I like the designs on its wings. I also like the framing that you have designed for the image. Excellent work

I love how delicately this butterfly seems to be perched on the flower, amazing capture. It speakes very loudly of delicacy on the part of the butterfly the flower and the photographer, thanks for sharing.
