Nice work, you've captured a huge range of colour in this image. The composition is great although I feel the empty beach and land to the right doesn't add much to the image. The rock, sea and shoreline into the horizon is fantastic, maybe moving slightly to the left or concentrating on this solely would improve it slightly. High marks from me.

Cheers..........

Wonderful composition of the sea meeting the land. Great detail throughout, even the tire tracks cooperated with your image!

Crackin' Photo - wide angle perspective brings most of the detail to the front.
Makes me want to take my chair and just sit and gaze into the disance

This is very nice, the color is fabulous. I noticed the sky on the left seems pixelated somehow, what might have caused this??

Thanks for your comments so far. I agree the colours are one of the best features. The sky seems to be a little pixilated particularly mid-left.....I thought about removing this with blur but it looked artificial. The problem is that when I transfered this image from my original source, it was accidently saved as a medium quality JPEG and this is I think a compression artifact.....I might try and dig out the original again. Also thanks Benroy, the composition is unusual....I have got lots of conventional beach shots, but I thought given the interest of the tire tracks etc 1/2 beach and 1/2 land would be of interest.

Great colors, great scale on the boulders. I think the tracks enhance that scale and balance the sea.

You know what, film is better than digital sometimes, isn't it? It's the exposure, I knew when I saw the thumbnail. Just somethin about it that's magical... I'm just not sure I could do that with my digital.

This is a really great photograph; perfect composition - sea, shore, rock/plants, road, land, mountains - in that order.. it's just ideal. Everything is perfectly placed. Thank you for taking it :)

Nice composition!! Here's something you could try to fix the pixellation problem: duplicate the image in a new layer, select the sky using the lasso tool, blur it using gaussian blur at around 4.5 pixels, then decrease the layer opacity to around 50%.

I just love the Big Sur area. I used to grab my best friend on saturday mornings, a handful of cd's for the car and a bundle of logs for a fire later...then we'd drive the PCH from San Francisco (always making a stop at Bonny Doon for a bottle or 2 of good wine). We'd find a nice, remote beach and stay until past dark...sometimes not leaving until the next days sunrise.
I don't live in SanFrancisco anymore, and sadly my best friend has passed on...so THANK YOU for this lovely photo and bringing up some wonderful memories!!!!
