Stunning detail in the feathers. I really like the distorted look of the neck being bent.....Different than the "norm" bird image we would see....Well done my friend.
A fine closeup of the good looking crane, Elizabeth. The colours and detail are great as well as the position you caught him in. In the 50's and 60's everyone in Florida had some plastic flamingos in there yard. Now I guess times have changed and everone wants live Sandhill Cranes instead. Well done.

Note: While sitting in a restaurant near Zephyrhills, FL. I kept hearing a loud tapping sound, I turned my head and spotted two Sandhill Cranes tapping on the window. I thought it was pretty sad that people have fed these birds to the point where they have to beg for food.
A perfect portrait of this beautiful crane! Like the composition~detail of the feathers is superb! Natural colors and great clarity~excellent capture! :)Ami
I saw a few of these at the Toledo Zoo last week, and couldn't get a shot of them. You did a nice job with this one. I love the colors and the way it is picking off the fleas. LOL.
It would seem surreal to see them walking around in the yard. A great photo Elizabeth. He must have taken the "red eye" flight to Florida. Good composition and detail is great.
Welcome back.
