From Nov 30th, an uncommon sight for me, the gulf is seldom this calm and slick. The pelicans were not my subject just happened to stop here along the seawall on Beach Blvd. I'm glad I did now, it appears construction work will take out these old posts for a man made beach here. Some mellow music to save, nice for solitary editing/work.. : )

I saw this in the VB and sure did like the way you composed this photo. Very simple, very elegant. It's sad that man feels they need to remove such beauty. Why can't they just leave things alone and stop moving the earth?!! Thank you so much for a lovely photo. I miss the Gulf Coast so much. Verena

A nice calm and relaxing scene Elizabeth. I like the pelicans sitting on the posts. This scene brings back some great memorys of fishin the gulf with my dad. Excellent post.

Without the pelicans one could not be certain of the scale of the piers. This obviously was once a pretty good-sized dock. The piers pull my eye immediately to the far right set and then out to the tall posts and that landing pelican. Excellent composition and timing, Elizabeth. As understated as it first appears, this image has the perfect balance of elements, from the piers and birds to the horizon line and wispy clouds. An exceptionally peaceful desktop image. Thank you.
