This is very good, but one thing that I see I am not liking is the sky although it may not of been helped. However, I'm thinking you can edit it out. The rest if the photo is awesome. Then again its just my opinion.. Different strokes for different folks, right? lol
I think the slight overexposure has flattened the image. For such a grand vista there seems to be no real depth. The light is obviously quite flat which is not helping. The banding of the ground almost gives an optical illusion feeling to it.
What a view! I think I would be totally unable to resist shooting this, even given that the light is clearly iffy. Dark shadows, and yet not much sharp definition...which means (in my limited experience) that the stinkin' sun was going in and out of the clouds...and maybe a little high in the sky. Your sky has just a bit of turquoise, which you can fix via changing the color option on some post-photo software. But what I hope is that you have another picture of just a portion of this magnificient scene... such as the valley to the right, or the interesting pocket in the left. Or the tree on the lower right could be turned into a focal point... rugged tree against equally rugged background sort of thing. Your download rate shouts that this is a marvelous picture, in spite of my nit-picking! And I agree!
It's a beautiful scene but something - the shadows maybe - is messing with my eyes and focusing. It is reminiscent of the Grand Canyon in all respects and an interesting capture -
I agree with the above; it seems the shadows on the top quarter of this picture threw it off a bit. Maybe adjust the exposure with your camera a little, and then you won't have that very bright sky ruining your picture. Must have been breathtaking in person!
