This is the Black Sand Beach on the island of Maui in Hawaii. It is actually a true black! Closer to the water the sand grains are quite small but as you come up it's more like pebbles. And no it is not a black and white image!

Great shot and presentation here. I had heard that it is illegal for tourists to bring any of the sand from that area back to the mainland. Again, nice work.
