OK Now! I have absolutely NO IDEEA what kind of flower this might be, all I know is that I took this Pic in the Garden of Eden on the island of Maui in Hawaii. Is it some kind of Ginger?

This is a bird of paradise - and this is a very lovely shot - we saw these all over when we were last in Kauai.

THis Bird of Paradise plant looks so different then the others I've seen tho. But it is just fantastic!! How beautiful! I do a lot of canvas paintings of these types of flowers, please allow me to do a painting of it. You've captured such beauty. Hawaii must just be a total paradise with its thousands of flowers. Thank you Trixie17 & Verena after you mentioned it I also thought it might be Bird of paradise until my expert gardener mother came by and immediately recognised it as a Heliconia...? Had no idea what she was talking about until I googled it and... she was right!

I think the Bird of Paradise also fits into the Heliconia family actually... but I could be wrong. I love these plants but have always found them to be less photogenic than other varieties. This is a good capture of one of them.
