I like it Ami. One main reason for covering bridges was to protect the trusses from the weather. They lasted longer. Also the roof made the bridge more sturdy. After steel and concrete this wasn't needed anymore.
I like some of the stories like keeping the horses dry and a good place to go sparking better. How else would Clint Eastwood have met Meryl Streep? It does look nice and dry in there.
This is good Ami, I like the window shadows also on the road. I enjoy the covered bridges and there just does not seem to be enough of them. Nice one! =^..^= sandi ♪
I think one purpose for covered bridges was that they kept horses pulling carriages from shying ... being frightened if they were up high and over water... and, of course, they lengthened the life of the bridge. Now, the covered bridges left are "historical" and so they are maintained because they are somewhat rare now. I think this is an interesting shot, Ami, and I think you should come back in the Fall when you can see some bright foliage through it.
That is a wonderful capture of this lovely covered brige, it's got beautiful wood for the inside walls. Looks like a fabulous place for a very relaxing and fast long walk. Bravo Ami
This one looks very new and modern for a covered bridge. It's lovely that they are still being built and loved. Your lighting is great inside allowing the windows and timbers to stand out. Is that snow on the ground exiting the bridge?
