Your composition is good. Like the positioning and balance between that of the stump and that of the reflected sun on the water within frame.
Caveats?
I took your image here up to the highest resolution size, and forgive me here ... I am not sure if you added some texturizing to your image? Or, if your post processing has inadvertently enhanced some artifacts in your image?
Solution? Or, a potential one anyways ... dial back the settings you used; contrast, sharpening et al.
Or ... consider using a 'diffuse glow' filter. Softens and lightens things up nicely in most cases. And indeed would provide some more 'magical light'. As that appears to be your artistic aim here.
And I could stand to be corrected on what is to follow ... but, I am used to eating my toes :oP ... perhaps, a lower perspective or an adjustment in your shooting height might mitigate the amount of reflected light caught by your camera's sensor.
And in turn, cut down on some of the aforementioned artifacting.
Good eye to have seen this photographic possibility. And you did well, as the lighting conditions do indeed look challenging.
Annnnnd ... but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
Hi Ami.. first I love that blue colour too. I think Les knows how to give great advise. Maybe you can also post it in a smaller size just big enough for our screen. Because at 1172x975 it looks much better! Check always before posting your biggest size because sometimes you see some things in quality that is less good. And!! this is still a wonderful series and I am happy you are trying to make new work like this. I enjoy your work.. be careful with the quality! Your friend.. Mich
I like the magic myself.....I understand what Les is saying( and boy does THAT scare the daylights out of me). Nice piece of work you have here and such a wonderful eye for the unexpected...Keep up the great work.
