This is fantastic and so much fun. It looks wonderful It makes me think of some futuristic communications device - not a satellite, but a relay between the stars for interstellar and intergalactic communication. The reason the design looks odd to us is probably due to the fact that it was the result of a collaborative consortium involving companies from several different species. I think they did a great job, though. The design is beautiful. Just hope the thing works now we've got it up there.
