Pike's Peak in Colorado...a beautiful place and the inspiration behind the song 'America the Beautiful". Once you ascend to the top, you understand why and those clouds were actually dropping snow at the top. We got snowed on during July 1st where it was about 34 degrees at the top and a hot 86 at the bottom. ;) thnks for lookin!!

It is a very lovely photo of the mountain,nice with the trees in the foreground and good clarity too.Colorado is very nice,you must have had a great time there.

I'm assuming you drive up to the peak, not hike it... ;-)) it looks like a beautiful place for a drive... and... it really is purple. We don't have anything like this in New England, the mountains here are actually older than the Rockies but they were all shaved by the mega-glacier during the last ice age...

Beautiful! My family and I were there in 2007. A storm rolled in while we were on the peak. My sister lives in Florissant, several miles up Rt. 24. We would love to move there from PA.

Excellent shot of one of my favorite mountains. I love the view at the top, but the drive scared the **** out of me.
