This flower blossom one in a year.When monsoon rain start first the bud came out & blossoms.Then the plant start growing.Later the plant dried out leave root under for the next cycle. Taken with Samsung X700

Nice capture of a lovely plant. I think that this is Scadoxus. I remember seeing the picture in a bulb catalog http://www.brentandbeckysbulbs.com/summer/productview/index.php?sku=92-01
I would love to grow this plant, but NC is too far north for this bulb to overwinter and I don't have room to bring it inside. I'm jealous. Enjoy your lovely plant!
