The building is located in the heart of Washington DC and it's supposed to be the highest court in the country, but we found out (in the tour) that there is a higher court- There is a basketball court on the top floor of this building that is there was the judges and the employees to use- :)

Nice job on this one, Sheri. It's always tough to mix travel and photography. We don't always get the perfect light, and the popular spots are always crowded. But you nailed the exposure and focus, so the result is a very pleasing shot with natural colors that highlight the wonderful stone work. Thanks for the great descriptive text, too. Alan

This is a nice, close look at a really impressive building...which is also very hard to photograph, in my opinion. Unless you want to stick to just a motif (such as the statue at the top of the stairs) you can't get it all in without distortion or chopping...unless, I suppose you are using a really wide-angle lens. Nice clarity and good control under difficult light.
