The person in the photo is our guide, August. He kept me from falling into some of the holes. There are holes in the ice that lead to a river that runs under the glacier. The river leads to the ocean. You don't want to slide into any of these holes.

Sheri - The sheen of the ice makes me wonder where I'll step next, especially when one slip could lead to a trip down a crevasse. This is an impressive view. I do hope the guide came back. :-) Thad

This scene with the lone person has so many feelings ... solitude, loneliness, or isolation. Love the lighting on the ice / glacier. Magnificent capture.
