This is a Orange Skipper. It is a type of butterfly. They are very hard to get a picture of! There are about a hundred different types of these skippers. Great shot!

I prefer this front view. It makes the viewer more involved with the insect rather than just taking a picture in passing.

Hi Adrienne, great macro shot, Ive got one just like it in my gallery, owd Bob called it a mutterfly but I think mine was a european skipper so I think busybottle is right. Great dof well done.
