Original stone foundations of the Castle of the Louvre that was built back in 1190. When you're down there in the bowels of the huge museum and see these wall foundations, it's quite surreal compared to the massive, sprawling modern structure encompassing all the levels above you that is now the Louvre. It's like stepping back in time for a few minutes. Don't forget to visit the original dungeons that are down there too!

I agree-quite an impressive picture.When I look at a picture like this I just wonder how they could build such great structures without all the modern equiptment and technology we have today.And then I am impressed all over again.
