When I went out walking on this day, I think the very last thing I could have anticipated taking a shot of was dead potato haulms. I could never quite understand the farmer's reasoning in leaving a big, solitary tree in the middle of a productive field, but they seem to do it quite a lot. I'm sure there's an explanation somewhere. Enjoy

It's for water breaks! : ) Or shade for the cows? Or for Auntie Em to set I like this solitary tree... As well as the contrasting lines of the field and lines in the sky.

Google Search results: It was a common practice to leave an oak tree in the middle of agricultural fields. Oak is one of the trees that most often gets hit by lightning, so it was left in fields to attract lightning away from the house, and any people or livestock that might be in the area.
Great shot!

Great shot Barry. It has such a unique feel to it:) I really like the way you have treated this, particularly the soft hills in the back:)
