One for all of you who are suffering in a heatwave at present. This is from images that I had filed and almost forgotten about. Winter sun at dusk casts a coloured tint over a frozen moorland bog in the Yorkshire part of the Peak District. Please feel free to use as a visual ice pack!. Enjoy.

One of my great dreams is to visit the Peak District. It looks simply enchanting! Wonderful job with the natural framing of the picture. You have one beautiful capture here.

Just about pulled off the rather elusive perfect photographic square composition, Barry.

Those ps.. I tell ya, do me and me monitor in ... every..time.

Silliness aside, had your image here bookmarked and now here's I be.

Very well done on the technical side of things. Most challenging lighting conditions and you and your camera imparted just the right amount of exposure to bring out the colourations and detail. In both, the landscape and it's elements ... and that of the sky and it's constituents.

Compositionally?

Love how one's eyes are guided throughout and deeper into the image, via the the zig zag lines/shapes of snow, rock and water (perceived and rather apparent and intended by you, the photographer, I would hazard).

"You have one beautiful capture here."

Agree with Maria's more eloquent and succinct appraisal above.

In short..

Well done.

And but of course..

Thank you for sharing this one with us.

p.s. +favs for me.

The color cast of blues and reds here is exceptional. The lifeless time of year is given softness by the snow and texture by the grid lines in the far fields that pull your eyes to the distance. Beautifully framed scene.

Love the way the hedgerows in the background carry out the "theme" of dark bars of brush cutting across white snow.
