With total disregard for any harmonization of colour schemes, the main street in the Yorkshire coastal village of Staithes. This was formerly a fishing village, but, although off the beaten track, now earns its living from tourists and the artist's community that have made it their home because of the excellent light here. I was particularly drawn to the al fresco electrical wiring, which I am not sure whether it is still carrying current. Probably not. I was playing with the idea of entering this into the "Rustic" competition, but I think its probably more quaint than dictionary defenition rustic. Nonetheless, enjoy.

I like the different colored buildings as well Barry. Maybe a new Greenwich Village will spring up and artists will become famous for future generations. You might be one of them.
I also like the angle and the warmness of the lighting.

If the lovely tones on the shadows and the sun on that yellow building with the red roof in the back are typical, I'd say the light is terrific here! I see you've done your usual magic with street scenes...this time corraling the robust individuality with repeated bits of red to encourage the eye to move along. I'd love to be right where you are standing, but I'd need to know...which building houses the Tea Shop?

I too enjoy the angle and lighting throughout the street scene. Definitely quaint, but I would say also rustic in many ways. Interesting for me to see a hill (mountain?) that high so close to the structures. The village is loaded with character.
