Hi everyone! I took a picture of a heron and used it for an image to paint. After painting it the way I wanted I then applied textures , shades, and shadows. I then set to work on the background applying a canvas and oil look to it. Finally combining both images for what you see here. I'm not as skilled as some painters but I am pleased with what I did anyway. Thanks for any comments.

What I like most here is the light touch and sketchy air to it.
It often is that the artist must work very hard to achieve the effect of doing things in the quite casual manner. This is the price of the apparent lightness of touch:) I love all the shadows and shades here.
For me your have all the reasons to be proud of.

It looks like a Japanese work of art. I especially like the bluish leaves on the right that complement the bluish white of the crane. Really very nice!
