This church has been around for awhile. I remember going to this church when I was around seven years old. Looking up some old facts about it I found an obituary telling of an old gentlemen who had fought in the civil war having his send off preached at this church around the year of 1891. One of the statements made about the man was "While he had his faults, as all others have them, yet he was a true friend and died with a hope of blessed immortality in the world beyond." I hope you like my edit of this image I shot recently.

Against the bright light you have done very well with the editing Frank.I also like the gradual change from bright to darker in the whole scene.

Frank - B/W works very well for this high contrast image. Good lighting with the direct sunlight hidden by the church, somewhat backlighting the small spire.

If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera. ~Lewis Hine The Earth without art is just 'eh'.

i do love history, thank you for the infor in the narrative, thats so important to add with shots like these. now as for the setting? wow you gave it this almost eerie feel to the photo, which now the importance to the narrative can be seen!

I seem to almost be at a loss for words on this scene. This is spectacular. Truly, the scene leaves me in awe of your ability with a camera. This is one of the best and most amazing photos I have seen, ever, not sure why I really, really like this so much, but it just speaks volumes. The light, the tones, the setting, and composition, superior work of art. A favorite.
