I had a collie when I was around 6 to 8 years old. She was a very loving dog. I called her Sandy. She was known as a Rough Collie.

Frank, I had a (Scottish) female collie too.
In fact, I must say that my late wife and children had one, because I wasn't often at home due to my maritime work. It was a super intelligent and sensitive animal. If I would come home after a sea voyage, my family knew this in advance of course. But they knew perfectly (without a phone call) when I was in the area again, because our dog then positioned herself behind our front door. When I opened the front door, our dog jumped so high that she pushed my cap up with her nose in an expression of delirious joy.
