These steps lead to Haverigg beach,Which is part of Morecambe bay..Rip tide come in here twice a day and you can't outrun them,They travel at 30 kph...A favourite spot for cockle pickers,Recently unlicensed gangs of chinese have been picking cockles,Quite a few were drowned and the gang leaders inprisoned..This bay is both beautiful and treacherous.Suns out at last,Still being ambushed by the odd heavy shower....R.

Not a safe place even for a walk leave alone picking cockles. People very often underestimate how fast the tide can rise in such coastal areas. Nice shot Richie.
