Jesmond Dene. The old banqueting hall is now open to the elements following the loss of its roof. Each end of the main hall had a magnificent arched window like the northern one pictured here. Alcoves in the walls between held Greek statues, and an army of servants carried the food from the now vandalised and ruined kitchens to the groaning oak table. Later, the table was moved aside for dancing and summer promenades on the neat terrace nearby.

Your editing of this image has helped to bring back a little of the old glory Richie. Nice colours and textures in this image.

What is left is still beautiful. They need to put the roof back on and breathe life back into her.

It sounds like a contradiction Richie, but it's a very nice image of (almost) gone glory.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . .
