What a gorgeous creature! He most definitely has ears!! Ask a field mouse.
This isn't your normal perfection of focal clarity, Richie. Were you shooting over a great distance or perhaps snapping the shot quickly before he flew away?
He is a cute little critter. I dont know much about a lot but I do know about owl ears. The little tufts some owls have on top of their heads are not ears at all. Their ear holes are lower down on the side of the head and one is always higher than the other which aids their incredible hearing. I like owls. Dont think I have ever seen one though. Our only NZ native one is called the Morepork (because this is what its call sounds like) I often hear them at night.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
