On Golden Pond - starring Katherine Hepburn, Henry Fonda, and Jane Fonda, 1981, was actually filmed on Squam Lake in New Hampshire. The three stars rented houses from friends of mine, and some of the filming took place on the properties. Many loons live around the lake, referencing the bird, not the neighbors. No red crested pochard there, but it would look good - like this one you captured so well.
