Walking up the lane this fell from a tree a landed on my napper before bouncing off and landing on the road ..I up-ended it and after it regained it's senses,It scuttled off into the undergrowth.The cockchafer,Melolontha melolontha,colloquially called Maybug, Maybeetle, or doodlebug,..R.

Richie, I well remember when my friends and I used to catch cockchafers in the hawthorn bushes around this time of year when we were young. Most hawthorn bushes have disappeared due to reparcelling in my area. In addition, air pollution and other causes have made seeing May beetles a rarity.
Your beautiful photograph brings back these memories.
