Your presentation of this scene is very well thought out, it is almost as if you were part of the history of the gold rush and knew exactly every aspect of it. Excellent.

Perfectly portrayed. There are the remains of old gold rush sites in several parts of the lower South Island of NZ. The hardships must have been terrible, especially for those that never struck it rich.
