Nice detail, and the foreground really stands out. It would be better if the bee was centered, but I do like the colors here.

Honey is quite an appropriate title for this, not just because of the bee, but because of the color of the flowers themselves. The bee and the stem appear to be purplish and taken with the yellow flower, they make lovely complementary colors.

What type of flowers are those? This is very nicely done. What type of lens do you use?

I don't know the name of this plant, I do remember it belongs to the bromeliad family which has the pineapple as one of its relatives. I used a Pentax 18-55 zoom lens at 55mm manually focused at the macro zone (autofocus will drive you crazy in situations like this). I chased this bee from flower to flower, my lens nearly touching him.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I say what I say because that is my honest opinion. I don't kiss ass because I find that gross and repulsive.

Thanks so much for that info. It is nice to hear about photographer escapades and to learn about what techniques they use or what equipment. Cindy
