This is downtown Cape Girardeau. Taken in Sept. of 08. I had to do quiet a bit of work on this on as their was way to many highlines blocking the view. I do not really even know what the building on top of the hill is. I expect it is a church. I just thought it was a cool view.

It almost looks like a old Courthouse BTK. I see curtains in the windows and air conditioners so I know it is old. Our courthouse has window air conditioners as well. I think you might have over edited this just a little. It doesn't look quite natural. As a friend once told me: "Anything worth doing, is worth over doing."

The composition is good and I like the angle. Makes me tired just thinking about climbing those steps. I have been to the Cape several times and it is a beautiful city.

Like this one Billy! The steps lead one into the shot! Love the clock and the trees to both sides. Great capture! :) Ami

Nicely done BTK. The only devil is a common one...you have a spectacular shot like this, composition, colors and focus is superb and the eye gets distracted by the silly street signs. Nothing to do about it, you captured this very well.

The subject is great as is the composition, & camera work Billy

But there are bold white fringes running alongside all the edges. I'm trying to think what you've done in post editing, one guess is excessive adaptive lighting.
Have a nice day my friend. :o)

If you have a garden please feed the birds this winter, & supply drinking water not ice, it's so important. . . . Please help dwindling bird numbers survive.

Billy here's the history on this beautiful building, I goggled it. Your capture is fabulous and you did a great job of fixing it up.

Common Pleas Courthouse was completed in 1854, the Courthouse sits high atop a hill overlooking the historic downtown area. It has played a big part in our history, from Indian council meetings to the Civil War. Completed in 1854, its “dungeon” was used to jail Southern Sympathizers and perhaps Confederate soldiers. There are 59 steps up to the front door.

I really like this capture. First of all the symmetry and the kind of "whiteness" around objects toward the top look like it does after a storm.
