This was a shot I took near the city lake in the fall. Central Oklahoma where I live is known as red carpet country because of the extreamly red soil. A good example of this is in the picture.

Fine shot Billy. We live not far from an area of such red soils and red rock formations. One area named the Devils Backbone has some amazing shapes and used to be able to find arrowheads there as well. There are alot of rattlesnakes there too though!

Another good one BTK. I again like the layering with the soil. Looks like a good spot for a picnic. The water adds a lot to the scene. Good presentation.

Red soil is also common in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia. Maybe all part of the same ancient seabed? Nice interesting photo and text.

The cliff is a real standout with that red color... it contrasts so nicely with the cobalt blue water. Good one!
