Well Billy, I just don't know what to say. I think you used the orton okay, but the photo is very blurry. I only speak the truth when I comment and please don't take offense, but I don't think this is very good hun.

I like the image, but it seems a little fuzzy to me. I don't know what the orton effect is, so maybe it's that, that I'm seeing. Then again it might just be my glasses.
Norton can make it appear blurry BTK. It depends on the strength. I would say it is a good, first effort. Look forward to more I think Biffo is as good as it gets with Norton. I would be interested in what he thought.
As I am unsure which image editing program/software you are using ... the above is for Photoshop. However, I think you could easily extrapolate on the information contained in the concise tutorial and apply/change it to suit what you have in hand.
What I particularly like is the ability to mitigate the amount of blurring employed by the use of the Masking step(s).
Not that hard to comprehend, really ... simply watch it through a couple of times and it will sink in, rest assured. :o)
Back to your image here ...
Seems like a more than fitting base image for the technique. :o)
Going to reiterate, view the video tutorial ... and you will see where you can make some adjustments.
(/\ Re: The application and employment of the blurring step in the process.)
Annnnnd ...
We shall wait right here to see some more from you. It is a fun technique to use, you will learn to recognize more good photographic candidates with more practice and application.
Thanks for sharing this one with us. A good good first effort. :o)
Well Billy, I'm useless to comment on this one, as I have absolutely no idea what an 'orton' is. I was under the impression that it was a Dr. Suess creation. Or perhaps that was a 'Horton'. Nevertheless, I will say that your shot gives me a real 50's/60's western movie feel. Ponderossa kinda stuff.
