It is amazing what we will do to keep posting when the weather is nasty. LOL!! Here is the first 10 Miles of Bad Dirt Road I hope you all enjoy the coming series.

This sure livened it up BTK. I really like both takes. Yes it is amazing how much we learn on his site. Great rework. This would have worked for the desolation contest.

I know you're gonna think I'm crazy, but I actually think I like the first upload better. The colors are great in the this post but the sky is pretty grainy. At least you're learning something!

Joanie has a point Billy the rework is more grainy, but I'm sure Neat Image could take care of that. (o: Don't beat yourself up over this because the contrast is far better here.

I love this one, too. It looks cold, winter, but the scenery is lovely.

I think this is good but yes, its pretty grainy. I like how the snow is laying on the fence. And the distant mountains. We all learn on this site. It's great really, and you can post questions in the discussion boards,. so that helps too. Keep working on these things. Verena

While I do enjoy the contrasting improvements in the front part of the image, I think I prefer the first version. Maybe somewhere in the middle... since the billowing clouds seem more true to the weather and atmosphere that day. The rolling hills and mountains seem a photographic goldmine.

Your original shot is one of my all time favorite pics. This is interesting, but (to me) doesn't give that feeling of cold and isolation that the first did...maybe because the road is now warm. I await the other versions with interest.

I like them both Billy. The original one is a super shot to me and very hard to really improve. The contrast enhancement of this re-work has added some extra texture that does work for this scene but might not for others.

In spite of the graininess I like this one best... The contrast between the snow and dirt liven it up. And, great composition!

Beautiful scenery, better contrast and much intensive colors; but I think I like the first one little more. Anyway great post work my friend!
