This is flying the colors rodeo style. I went to a rodeo last night and captured a few shots worth showing. Since every rodeo is started by flying the colors and a prayer I thought it fiting to start this small series just like that. I do hope you all enjoy it. I was not sure which gallery to put it in.

Nice action shot, as the flag pole pleasantly leans against the flow of the bleachers.

I find the people in the background interesting too. Wonder what that little girl is saying to the lady in the red top, as there's quite the distance between them?

I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals

Great action shot Billy and indeed a fine way to start the series. But I have to ask, what is up with all the folks Not watching the colors? Before football games we would watch the colors and sing the national anthem. It is a matter of respect for me.

I'm not sure but I think they ride into the center of the arena and stop for the National Anthem.
The people steal this shot BTK. I like it very much.

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Great shot of the circle ride Billy! I'm really looking forward to the other rodeo shots. I haven't been to one in years and miss it so much!

Billy - You are capturing the spirit of the rodeo with this one of likely many riders opening the show. Thad

I too find the onlookers as interesting as the horse and rider. They seem to be in various states of attention. Interesting atmosphere.

This is a good photojournalism image, telling a story, in that she is out there performing, flying by on her horse, turning a corner, and not a single spectator in the stands is looking at her. Not one. Good action capture.
