I read a class on Peter Liks blog last night called "Intentional Blur". I tried it and I like the effect it gave me. What do you think? I appreciate all of your comments and have a great and safe weekend.
The colors are really good BTK. I don't much care for the effect because I do it with the camera most of the time but it is called unintentional blur. Have a good Labor Day Weekend.
Unintentional blur, or as I call it...camera shake...can be effective, depending on who is admiring the image. This is actually pretty good, and isn't over used. I would call it a soft blur. The color of this foofy is outstanding. Very nice work, Billy.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
If this was anything except for a flower shot, I'd say I don't care for the intentional blur. However, I believe this flower shot (and all future flower shots) could do with some additional blur. I'm thinking of the same blur that I see when my eyes are closed. :-)
Seriously, I like your landscapes much better than this flower shot. I've seen soft blur on flower shots, but those I believe, are the result of an actual filter. Kathy (trixxie17) is the expert on soft blur, filters and anything to do with flowers.
With or without the sharpness, the colors are a bit overpowering. The soft blur might contribute to the power of the colors because the petals and individual components of the flower are not quite as distinct.
Anyway, that's my take on your shot for whatever that's worth.
I think the color is wonderful, but for me I do not care for the soft blur, looks like camera shake to me. Just giving you my honest opinion, sorry Billy. Tigs♥ =^..^=
It does give a soft effect to the bloom. A similar effect can be achieved using a high bloom effect. Then using just a touch of sharpening to keep some of the petal texture intact. Reading the note above by Roger makes me wonder if one of those nasty low votes in the old VB came from him. I really do not understand being that hateful.
Great job with the colors.
They just jump out at you.
