This was taken on one of my outings near Hayden Co. The people of Steamboat call this area the badlands. I personally think they are way to beautiful for that name to apply.
I imagine you're doing about 90 mph on your way to Oklahoma. Hope you have a radar detector.
I'm often amazed by the names that the locals give to certain areas. I see nothing bad in these badlands. This is a wonderfully layered shot with the foofies in the foreground leading up to the rocky cliff face and the wonderful sky. I wish the foofies were more sharply focused, but the shot is terrific.
I suspect if Skitzo (Roger) fell off that cliff and lay there without water for days or got lost in them for days without water, he would call them The Badlands too BTK. At least he could admire the beauty of this scene as the lack of water sucked the life out of him. :) Great post.
Billy - Pretty darn good badlands! It is rugged country, but has a beauty all its own. I like the composition with the diagonal lines of scrubs, trees, cliffs and sky. Well done! Thad
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
