Billy, what really strikes me about the shack in this photo is the fact that although it's leaning & has no doors it actually looks to be well built ie. straight lines, square, & no sagging roof etc. Nice colors, light & contrast. ...Ed
If I assume that the building is straight, I would say that the horizon is way off and that all of those trees in the background are leaning to the right; so I'll assume that the building was built by the same contractor that built my house.
Because we both tend to shoot more landscapes than anything else, I have a tendency your download the largest available version of your shots and view them at sometimes 400% scale and just scan around.
As Sandi mentioned, the focus looks soft. At 400% the pixels almost look like this was cropped from a much larger shot and there's plenty of noise in there as well. Immediately to the left and slightly above the cabin, the cloning got away from you. Nice try, but I've seen you pull the wool over my eyes before; so I know what to look for.
The overall shot is a beauty. The colors show the majesty of the land. I like the composition and the fact that you didn't center the shack.
Talk about a blast of colors!! The old cabin looks good in the wild grasses BTK. Sad to say they have gone the way of the buffalo. Focus a little soft but the colors make up for that.
I think Dotger has been inhaling too much California fog! I bet it ain't fog at all, but a cloud of smoke from wacky tobacky! This is a gorgeous shot, Billy. The colors are great, and I like that cabin. Looks like somebody kicked some of the bricks it was sitting on, out from under it!
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
