This barn is depicted in pictures and paintings all over Steamboat Springs. I have found out that it is 80 years old and got a small facelift in 2007. To learn more about the barn and its history click here. Thankyou all for your generous comments latly, they are appreciated.

What a great angle you chose BTK. It was as good an angle as I believe you could have chosen. The barn and the grasses contrast perfectly. Excellent post with the dark sky finishing off the scene.

You picked a great day to head out on your photo expedition. Between this posting and the rainbow shot, you've done a wonderful job of capturing the essence of this beautiful structure. I haven't seen a sky like that in decades. You've come up with an interesting perspective here as you shot up the embankment leaving the sky and foggy mountains to have their fair share of the shot. I also like the brown grass which reminds me of an Andrew Wyeth landscape painting. Good job, Billy.
