At a glance I thought the photo was taken in poor light, but upon closer inspection I see that the washed-out look is the result of your manipulations in Photoshop.

I like the way the foreground blends into the background without any defined edge, and the B&W overlay gives the whole image a slightly cold feel...as weird as it may sound, the best word that comes to mind is funeral, as if this were a rose about to be tossed onto a coffin under a cloudy sky. Yeah, maybe that's too immersive, but that's what this image triggers in my mind...

This is definitely what I would call Blood Red! Beautiful!
