The art-history museum is the oldest public museum of Europe and is especially famous for its Brueghel and Rubens collections. It is the huge domes of the buildings that make the art-history and the scientific-history museums unique.

The staircase alone is very impressive, greeting the visitor with stairs made of colourful marble and splendid plastics and pictures. On the first floor, in the Dome Hall you find precious plastics. Moreover, there are famous painting galleries which include the exhibits of extraordinary artists. Parmigianino, Van Eyck, Bosch, Brueghel, Rubens, Rembrandt and Vermeer to mention just a few. The Secondary Gallery is located on the second floor and presents 600 pieces of art of the schools and the environments of famous artists. Especially interesting as well are the specific collections like the Egyptian and Antique collections as well as the "Kunstkammer" and the "Muenzkabinett".

I had to straighten it a bit due to the circumstance that I put the cam on the hedge you can see on the bottom :o)

& yet another superb shot. The lighting is again perfect, but what makes it so cool is the angle, which i love, being able to see the blured & autumn colored grass & above it, the majestic-sculptured building. Excelent job... Paul

Beauty is no quality in things themselves. It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them, and each mind perceives a different beauty.

Beautiful picture Chris,
If you hear the names of the painters, this way you say it in a museum in the Netherlands. Because it are haste all Dutch painters. The museum does stand to the Hofburg or not?

If you love something, set it free. It it comes back to you, it is yours. If it does not, it was never meant to be. Wil

I really enjoy the uniqueness of the angle you shot this at, Chris. And, of course, your hallmark night shot proficiency is well noticed here - wonderful work!
