I wonder where that ship is bound for, is it empty or full. This is a great shot U. Steve, as its evry thought provoking, and its also made Otis Redding sing in my head. Lovey capture.

Jo, shame on you ! Anybody could see that the ship is empty - judging by the width=height of its part above the water LOL
Ships are my passion ... But for now almost everybody heard it from me at least twice LOL
Thanks, Steve !

Very nice shot with great composition! Maybe it has to do something with it being Friday, but I too hear someone singing in my head. LOL

A great widescreen shot, there is always that something about lighthouses.. and the outgoing ship makes this image all the more. A beauty of a posting.

I'm with Tom I think this is well thought out, but for the light and general composition I think the other view you took is better. That said, the ships are a nice touch.

Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.

Nice shot. Good framing. Personally, I might have tried a shot without the ships because for me the fewer elements in this image, the emphasis on the lighthouse and it's isolation is greater. Maybe you did try that already and including the ships was better :-)
I would love to have the chance to take lighthouse images. Always produce striking images, often with dark backgrounds and sunlit bright lighthouse exteriors.
Thanks for sharing.

Hard work never killed anybody, but why take a chance?
