This is The Palm House in Sefton Park, Liverpool. The Palm House has recently been restored to its former glory and is now a magnificent Grade II Listed Building at the centre of one of the largest urban parks in Britain.
"Where there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see." ~Dorothea Lange
A great pic Steve that always leaves me sad
Being a London boy I was born about 5 miles from the original Crystal Palace But hey there's still a great football club, and sports stadium there. There was a Amusement park there until about 1969 until a accident shut the ground down. :o(. To be honest I hate contemporary buildings replacing priceless relics from the past, progress is a word I depise, but at least this one's a good old un. :o). Faved
A very interesting link there U. Steve. I will have to make a trip to see it. I really love these glasshouses, at least their glass has lasted longer than my greenhouse. A very nice shot. yfj
It's like a mini Kew, I had no idea there was a palm house in Sefton Park. This is a good view of it and I like the way you placed the path off-centre.
Super shadows!
