Britain has been battered by severe gales over the last few days. Sunday/Monday the gales hit Southern England and Tuesday/Wednesday (11th/12th March) they hit Northern England, Southern Scotland and Northern Ireland. This morning the winds peaked here at 80mph (130kph). These pictures were taken in winds of 56mph (90kph) and are of the mouth of The River Mersey.

Your high winds sure have made for some great photo opportunities. Very nice. Those are some violent looking waves.

What the saying? "It's an ill wind that brings nobody any good" or something to that effect, and it certainly has provided for a lot of great photo ops for you at least. Hope you survive all this safely.

I just hate dirty cutlery !! A mistreated dog should try to leave a deposit on their masters best carpet, after all it's important to establish who's boss ... My gallery is here.

While I like the winds effect on the rivers and seas, I am not so keen on the effects on my greenhouse :) I havent had a chance to get to the sea during the winds, so I enjoy your pictures a lot. Plus you went out in the cold and wind, and I can sit here in the warmth and admire your work lol.

Do not wait; the time will never be "just right."Start where you are and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.

LOL I was thinking of you with the gales and imagining just how happy you were going to be!! This is turning into your forte - I'm getting curious to see what you're going to come up with in calmer weather. Another dramatic shot here, with the action perfectly frozen.
