A fine close-up with some good details on the pistil and lower petals. As someone who, themselves, has been doing digital photgraphy for only a few months, I can certainly empathise.

Being new to this fascinating hobby myself, I can only tell you that I think you've done everything right here... good, detailed focus, blurred and unobtrusive background. Next time you get a square image, you might want to also offer it in a rectangular frame that would adapt without distortion to the average monitor. However, many monitors can be adjusted not to distort your pic anyway! Very nice shot.
