Taken at night. I always have trouble with white flowers and flash, they don't get along with each other and fignt. I thought the bloom was unusual and thought you might enjoy. Comments will be appreciated.

I actually like this...it works! Not to dark and not to light but just the right balance! Pixels get a little blurred toward the bottom but the image is very crisp at the top and the rock for the background makes this image all the more original! Job well done and thanks for sharing!

This is a great shot, and a wonderful photo opportunity! If you own a SLR with an off-camera flash (such as a Nikon SB series speedlight), you will be able to really control the output of the flash so that it doesn't overwhelm your subject, which does not need much light to get it to shine. You can also bounce the flash off of a reflective surface like a sheet of white cloth or paper, as this will make the light softer and help reduce glare. If you only have an on-camera flash and can't dial down its strength (with flash compensation), another trick is to use tissue paper or toilet paper, folded into as many layers for diffusion strength as you need. That trick gave me the lighting I needed for a number of still life shots I have done. (I can't afford an off-camera flash yet, so I got my still life set up, and had tissue paper over the flash of a separate, point-and-shoot camera, and fired both cameras at the same time, the DSLR borrowing the P&S camera's flash.) Besides finding a flash or lamp lighting situation that works best for you, you have this flower posing wonderfully for you! Keep it up, and never give up! I look forward to seeing your future uploads. :) Have a great day!
